Why do we do what we do at SGC? What’s the purpose? Why do we exist? And why, specifically, do we meet in community groups?

Sovereign Grace Church exists to glorify God by: Maturing and Multiplying disciples who enjoy and declare the good news of Jesus Christ for the joy of all peoples. That’s our non throw-away mission statement. That is at the core of who we are and what we do. And it's ultimately why we have community groups at SGC in Bellbrook.

The first key way we mature and multiply disciples begins with our corporate worship on Sunday mornings. Sunday mornings are vital for the church family. But there are ways in which the fruitfulness of Sunday is compounded through the relationships and contexts for application outside of Sunday. And community groups meeting throughout the week have the potential to help us accomplish this mission of maturing and multiplying disciples who enjoy and declare the good news of Jesus Christ for the joy of all peoples. How so? Well, Community Groups can be of enormous benefit by prioritizing three things:

  1. Gospel-Centered, Spirit-Empowered Growth
  2. Gospel-Centered, Spirit-Empowered Relationships
  3. Gospel-Centered, Spirit-Empowered Evangelism
