Since the gospel is by definition “good news," evangelism always involves the sharing of this news. Every Christian is called to be an ambassador of the gospel, and we desire to equip every member of Sovereign Grace Church to share the gospel accurately, joyfully, and faithfully.
We seek to equip everyone to bear witness to Jesus Christ and share the gospel in the network of relationships he provides to each of us. These “fields of harvest” (Matt. 9:38) include our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, classmates—anyone whom God has sovereignly placed in your life.
Our primary means for equipping is by keeping the gospel the “main thing” in the life and teaching of this church. Our secondary means of equipping for evangelism at Sovereign Grace Church is done through training in the Two Ways to Live resource. Two Ways to Live is an easily understood and excellent summary of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In six simple points, it conveys the key information that the average non-Christian person needs to understand in order to become a Christian. And it does so in a way that does not assume any prior knowledge or understanding of Christian concepts. Utilizing the training course from Matthias Media, SGC is beginning to train individuals how to use the Two Ways to Live material in their evangelistic relationships. The initial training course is accomplished through 7 consecutive weekly one-hour classes. More information about Two Ways to Live can be found here.
