Q & A - The Gospel and Sexuality

Speaker: Sam Allberry Series: Seminar: The Gospel and Sexuality Topic: Cultural Engagement

In the midst of the current debate over sexuality, the gospel is the most important resource we have to understand and love our neighbors. We believe that the gospel has the God-appointed power, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to open blind eyes and change hearts. As hearts are brought under the Lordship of Christ, they are given new desires to obey God’s laws and commands. This is why the gospel is so important in this discussion. The gospel is the only hope for all of humanity because only the gospel brings us into relationship with God. This is why this seminar is so important. For, not only will the Biblical understanding of sexuality be discussed, but this seminar will focus on the power of the gospel to change lives for Christ.

SESSION 1: ‘How the Gospel of Jesus informs our sexuality’ There is perhaps no more contentious issue in our modern culture than that of what the Bible teaches about sexuality. But even more, how does the gracious gospel of Jesus affect our own sexual beliefs and practices? This session will equip us to understand and answer these questions lovingly, confidently, and truthfully.

SESSION 2: 'How the gospel of Jesus inform our mission to those struggling with Same-Sex Attraction and the LGBT community around us” Many people, including Christians, are same-sex attracted and are hard-pressed to find hope, friendship & support in the midst of it. How do we care for our Same-Sex attracted brother or sister? Yet many of our Gay neighbors, family, and friends are not Christian. How do we love our Gay neighbor?

Sam Allberry, editor for The Gospel Coalition, a global speaker for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, currently a visiting professor at Cedarville University, pastor based in Maidenhead, UK, author of a number of books, and founding editor of Living Out, a ministry for those struggling with same-sex attraction, will teach from God's word and share his testimony and wisdom in befriending, loving and sharing Jesus to the LGBT community.
